Meet the Course Developers & Tutors @ LearnHousing
Who develops the courses?
Courses are developed collaboratively with the input from qualified online trainers, experienced subject trainers/consultants and/or practising Housing professionals. Wherever possible current practitioners are involved. This is crucial as the majority of learning takes place at the workplace, and many exercises and assignments require the immediate application of lessons learned, or the researching of issues within a learner’s organisations. To make sure our course design works in the organisational context, we work closely with those working within organisations.
Who are the trainers and tutors?
Courses are usually delivered by two tutors:
- one is specifically trained in online tutoring
- the other one is a subject-expert.
This ensures that each tutor concentrates on a specific task. The e-learning expert ensures that learners navigate smoothly and effectively through the course, that they are supported in their learning experience, and that collaborative learning takes place. The subject tutor guarantees that learners receive high-quality professional feedback on assignments and ‘learn the ropes’ from people who have practical experience in the subject. The specific role of the subject tutor varies with each course, depending on structure and learning objectives. In some cases courses may be run by just one tutor - in which case he or she will be a subject expert who is also qualified to deliver online training.
