LearnHousing Xtra creates a new and effective way of helping Housing professionals to learn what they need by mixing and matching elements of training, consulting and coaching.

How LearnHousing Xtra works in practice
LearnHousing Xtra is a tailor-made learning & coaching solution: through your personal webpage at the LearnHousing Virtual Learning Centre you will access a complete learning resource focused on your particular learning needs. The resource is based on our material from open-access courses, BUT with the additional bonus of extra material, resources and specialist advice addressing your specific needs.
In addition to the online-based information, your personal coach will work with you not only by guiding you through the resources, but by also sharing expert knowledge and helping you to apply it in your workplace. The coaching element is important as there are certain stages in the learning process where feedback or an expert perspective can have a dramatic impact -, or where you need expert advice to get on with your task as quickly as possible.
Communication and interaction with your coach is designed around the following methods of communication:
- Telephone at agreed times.
- Instant messaging or online chat at agreed times. Basically the same as a telephone call but no cost – a digital conversation!
- E-mail. Take your own time. Work when you want to and your coach will reply with a pre-agreed time window.
Where some face-to-face communication is needed we can offer that too - at an extra charge. Face-to-face support can also include observational coaching (we assess what's going on at your workplace and provide instant feedback and advice).
This approach is suitable for individuals as well as small groups (for example a group of managers all wanting to learn about managing teams) and includes a full assessment of your specific learning needs before getting started.
