Why LearnHousing is different from Gorillas ...

If LearnHousing was as big as a gorilla, we would already be printing thousands of leaflets and brochures and buying advertising space in the Housing Press. But LearnHousing is (still) small and independent, and proudly investing resources in service development and not PR. But not being gorilla-size means relying on 'guerrilla marketing' instead - networking, word-of-mouth, etc. You are a part of my existing network, so I am upfront enough to ask you personally for support.

I totally appreciate how busy you are, so I'm not asking for a lot. Just support our attempt to bring innovation to the Housing Sector by reading this short bulletin AND forwarding it to at least one colleague. Alternatively, encourage them to explore the LearnHousing website which can be found @ www.learnhousing.co.uk.

Many thanks, Monika Strell
Which elusive expert
would you like to meet @ LearnHousing?

In addition to e-learning courses and workshops in our own Virtual Learning Centre, LearnHousing will also use other innovative methods to enable the exchange of knowledge and expertise, on a peer-to-peer level and by involving experts.

This approach will include Online masterclasses and Webinars with leading Housing experts.

We are currently exploring with a number of experts how they can share their knowledge via LearnHousing, but we would really like to invite our future clients to have a say too.

  • So - whose expertise do you value?
  • Whose conference sessions do you always try to attend?
  • Who have you heard of but have never been able to see or hear live?
Drop us an email with the names of experts you'd like to see on LearnHousing and we will put them on our list of potential contributors.

Trying to get your team into shape?

If so then book a place on CREATING AND MANAGING EFFECTIVE TEAMS,
a 3-week pilot online workshop (~3 hrs/week study time) for Managers.
£60 'guinea pig' rate, starting in May 2005.

Developing better teams is actually quite simple, although it takes time and commitment from the people involved.

The secret of success is attending to the root causes of any problems – like lack of trust and dysfunctional relationships – as the first step to improving team morale and working relationships.

The second step is to develop the 'team-working' abilities of the team in relation to their actual work tasks.

The aim of this 3-week course is to prepare participants to master these two steps.
