Issue 2 :: 9 March 2005 :: The LearnHousing Connection
Welcome to the second edition of The LearnHousing Connection. Many thanks to those who visited the LearnHousing website, got in touch for further info, or who are keen to take part in a course.

Embracing a new approach to learning & training can be daunting. This is why LearnHousing does more than just deliver a new form of training. We are also aiming to provide general information about effective ways of learning, training and professional development - within the Housing Sector & beyond.

If you visit LearnHousing's Links or Resources pages you will find a range of background information; not just about e-learning, but ranging from learning-style questionnaires, to the latest CIPD e-learning survey, or to the Egan Review about skills for sustainable communities. Together with the newly added Housing Information Portal (which provides links to Housing literature and reports), these pages make LearnHousing a new one-stop-shop for housing knowledge & expertise. Please have a look, and don't forget to spread the word about LearnHousing!

Many thanks, Monika Strell

Everything you always wanted to know about
e-learning - but were afraid to ask ...

E-LEARNING 'TASTER'-WORKSHOPS:

between 21 and 23 March,
and from 13 April:

If you have never taken part in e-learning then there is no better way of learning about it then having a go at it yourself. If our initial subject-courses don't meet your current training needs, or if you want to try e-learning before signing up for one of the pilot courses, then take part in one of the 'taster'-workshops:

3-day online workshops for any keen explorer. These are FREE and you need to allow only a total of 2-3 hours to take part.

Those who take part will meet in the LearnHousing Virtual Learning Environment, and will try out various activities and forms of communication with the aim of finding out more about e-learning. It will be a fun-way of 'learning by doing' ... and the classroom will remain open after the workshop finishes, to allow further explorations.
