Welcome back to the latest LearnHousing connection! The main focus of this edition is to introduce you to ways in which your organisation can get real benefits from e-learning by customising content and using internal resources - an approach that has recently been supported by the findings of some research by the CIPD. As always we try to keep this newsletter short and succinct - so please get in touch if you want to find out more about any of the issues raised. Monika Strell |

Turn your own
Knowledge & Information
into e-learning Many organisations possess valuable and important internal knowledge and information resources. What a shame, though, that so much of it is stored in a rather boring and inaccessible way - in people's heads, on paper, in file repositories, or on intranets. Knowledge and information that is inaccessible is a dead resource, negatively affecting the performance of individuals and organisations. So why not use it for the training and development of employees, instead of letting it go to waste? LearnHousing can help organisations to unblock their information flow by supporting them in creating their own internal e-learning content, using existing internal expertise and resources. By helping you to repackage and make accessible the expertise and resources you already own, we won't just help to save you money; we'll also make sure that you will have a solution that fits your organsiation's culture and needs 100%. As CIPD research has just confirmed (see right-hand column) this is the best way to ensure that e-learning works! CIPD research confirms that tailored E-learning delivers benefits Recent research from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), indicates that more than half of organisations (54%) use e-learning. At the present time employers are concentrating on developing e-learning modules specific to their needs, and embedding it firmly in their other business and human resource processes. Making e-learning specific for each organisation and tailoring modules to the needs of staff and managers may be more expensive in the short-term, but it will deliver results and work out cheaper in the long-term. Related to the research are a series of case studies which are available as free downloads by clicking here. Organisations featured include:
